Subject: Re: Firefly MV cameras, NIB, on ebay

Hi Milton,

First of all, thanks for AstroIIDC, it's a great piece of software.

I got three of these cheap cameras, and after upgrading the firmware(*), they work fine with AstroIIDC. However, I see the maximum exposure as 233ms, not the 0.833s you mention below. Am I missing something? I'm using 4.08.00.

Cheers,

Stuart

(*) Like others, I had to use the Linux upgrade tool under VMWare on my Mac.

Hi Tim;

Thanks for the link and notification.

They also would work pretty good as a cheap guider camera, as longest exposure time is 0.833 seconds.

Bin the Monochrome model 4x4, use moderate gains and you likely can guide off mag 9 stars with a 8" aperture scope using an OAG (Off axis Guider).
