And the hardware instructions for connecting the pins is covered on page 109:

1) To enable arbitrary long exposure times for Point Grey Research Cameras (see "Allow extended PGR cameras exposure times" on page 89) with Astro IIDC, you need to connect up  certain GPIO Pins together. Their are currently three connector types used by PGR, the "Hirose 

25" (8 pin), the older "Hirose 10" (12 pin) and the Chameleon "JST BM07B-SRSS-TB" (7 pin), as shown below (images are CopyRight Point Grey Research):
