Subject: Re: [Astro_IIDC] Cooling Fins

Hey gang,

I've installed the cooling fins from Scopestuff. The images of the finished product are in my pictures directory. Seem like they will work pretty well, but as usual, the Ohio clouds won't let me test it out. I was thinking about installing small heatsink fans on each one, but don't know if that's needed.

Hi Folks;

A fellow on another list mentioned these "stick on" Cooling fins for metal cameras.

As long as they ambient temperature is lower than the camera temperature, they should help dissipate some of the heat. They won't be as efficient as a Peltier cooler, but they don't need power either.

Copper is a better material if you can find cooler / fins built using it instead of aluminum.
