Yes, unfortunately it is impossible to get a new license. I had planned to buy the universal key that Milton was offering, but my brother died just before the deadline. I live in Maryland and I had to travel to Des Moines for a week to close up his apartment and handle his affairs, and there was so much to do in a short time that I lost track of the license deadline, so I, too, am locked out on all new Macs.
