Hi Dave;
The PS means "Progressive Scan" and it's a RAW (i.e. Bayer) Color camera. However it's a 1.3.1 IIDC Camera and what Bayer pattern it uses will have to be manually determined by you and selected in Astro IIDC. It wasn't until the IIDC 1.3.2 that the bayer pattern was officially determinable via the IIDC protocol calls.
Sony also had other issues when running more than 8 bits per pixel too (wrong endian format and refusal to properly expand > 8 bit data into 16 bit format) - which is documented in the Astro IIDC manual. We handle it - but it isn't pleasant.

What’s a 1/8-type Progressive Scan IT CCD Maybe Sony is not allowed to put what CCD is in their own branded machine vision camera’s for there 3rd party vendors? Most of these cameras are sold to vendors and relabeled.
