Subject: First light with new planet killer

It's been an incredibly cloudy few months in the Toronto area and this morning was a rare clear one.  I got up at 1 AM and set up my new twelve inch, f/13 Cassegrain reflector to see if it would work.  The optics were made in 1968 by Optical Craftsmen and originally belonged to the York University observatory before being retired and trickling down through various owners until ending up with me.  I made an open pole structure for the optics to minimize weight and cool down period.  Collimation is rough and I also need to tweak the separation distance between the primary and secondary as aberrations are quite significant but the inset image of Jupiter shows a lot of promise (AstroIIDC and PGR Scorpion ccd)
