Subject: Re: [Astro_IIDC] Change of MAC PRO

Dear Gustavo;

Unfortunatey, I can't help you. Astro IIDC has been deceased for several years now, we have shut down our consulting business, and I barely do anything on the Mac anymore (Zero demand for any Mac development or Jobs).

So there is nothing I can suggest except looking into Windows solutions.

All the best…

Milton

Hi Milton, I have 3 MAC Keys for 4-5 years ago, we use it on a vehicle to adquire photos of the highways with 5 PointGrey Grasshopper cameras and still working great, but now one of mi MAC PROs have trouble, at the apple service told me about adquire a new one, but my problem is the Key, is any way to change that Key? I mean, "delete" or switch the Key from the oldest, trouble MAC to install it in a brandnew MAC PRO?

Or is anybody there selling a GoldenKey??

I really apreciate your help.

Donn;

That is correct. Astro IIDC uses unlock keys. The keys could be purchased for either a Camera or a Mac and are specific to that device. Unless you had that device (either the Mac or the Camera), you could not use the unlock keys.

Since the unlock keys are unique to each device, you would have to purchase that specific Mac or that Camera to use that key.

The Golden Key allows a person to generate Mac unlock keys from a locked USB Flash Drive. The drive has to be physically inserted into the Mac it is creating Keys for.

Which means basically you'd have to purchase one of the 20 Golden Keys that were produced from someone.

Hi Milton:

Thanks for the reply and info. I understand what you're saying.  Am I correct in assuming the only way for me to get a fully working copy of the software is to find someone who is no longer using theirs and buy their copy and "golden key" (not sure exactly what that is)? Are there any other options or ?? Thanks...

Peace and blessings,

Donn
