Do you still use it to operate your cameras for outreach or is there another program with mac drivers for the FW cameras?     Ron

yes, it does stack RAW frames.  Thats what I use it for.  I bought a golden key so I still use ASTRO/IIDC primarily for .movs.

Thanks for the reminder about Lynkeos Stephen.  I had downloaded it years ago and never really used it because of AstroIIDC.  But as a 'plan B' it might be necessary.  Webcams are hardly used anymore, but it appears that it stacks RAW CR2 files from Canon DSLRs.   Do you know if thats correct?  That could be very useful as DSLRs are being used for planetary images more and more.    Ron

Hi Mike ,

There is no way to get it running on your Imac .

Lets face it , Milton has done a fine job , building this software , I still like using it , but using also other software like Pixinsight ( 0n MAC ) .

Imaging has made a large leap forwards , the last couple years , in electronics and in software .

When Milton stopped with IIDC , I have thought buying an universal key , but i didn't , when my Macbook has end his life , the software has had its time to .

Than it will be time to make some changes . at the moment for deepsky Pixinsight is hard to beat  .

Registax is great for planet and lunar editing , it has wavelets and thats a huge difference , but windows only .

My biggest problem will be my CCD camera's , Its much more reliable on a MAC .

I have made my choice by not buying the universal key , and I think that's the way to go , If you want to improve your imaging , you have to improve jour software and other gear .

Maybe its time ,

kind regards

Albert

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone in the group can help me.
I have been using the software on a couple of old Mac laptops for awhile now, and it works fine, but I wish to use it on a new iMac, just for its image processing abilities.
However, I don't have a licence to use it on the iMac, and was hoping someone would have a few ideas?

Cheerio,
Mike.
