Subject: SSD Data Loss Warning

Hi Folks;

I was doing my morning surf and ran across an interesting article on how quickly an SSD can start losing data if it's unpowered or if it exceeds it's fairly narrow operational temperature ranges.

So if you have or are planning on having a permanently installed computer in an unheated observatory - you might want to think about what type of storage you are using for, what your back up strategy is and if it should be powered and heated when not in use (like up here in western Canada when it can be -45°C for days in mid winter).

Clear skies..
