From What Darryl Robertson said, El Capitan has completely destroyed memory management under QuickTime or QTKit (same thing as QTKit is a Dumbed Down Cocoa Wrapper for QuickTime).
Basically he has to manually release pools per function over and over or eventually memory fills up and Apple won't release it properly. Can't do pool releases under Carbon to even work around it.
