Subject: Re: [Astro_IIDC] crash log

Hi Stephen.

I have no solid idea, but possibly hardware or timing differences are triggering this bug in the lib. The only way I could be sure would be to have a similar desktop Mac here for testing and that assumes I can even make the code compile under the new version of XCode. Apple removes all the previous headers and libraries for early versions of OS X form the IDE and as part of their planned obsolescence strategy.

One thing you can do is to always submit your Crash Reports to Apple. The more crashes that happen and show up in there automated database, especially if you can get it to happen in their own software (i.e. Preview, Numbers, FCP etc.), the more likely Apple will look into it.

Small developers submitting bug reports simply does not work, as Apple automatically assumes that your bug was fixed in the last x.x.x update and removes it from the list, meaning you have to re-submit it each time they push an update out. And if the bug is in an API they deprecated (like FireWire or QuickTime), well it never gets fixed.

HTH..

Thanks for looking at it Milton.

Why do you suppose that it works on my MacBook Pro and imac but not on the Mac Pro, all using El Capitan?

From my iPhone (sorry if it's short)
