Subject: vacation snapshots

Hi all,

Here are a few snapshots captured during our annual vacation at Little Lake Sunapee, New Hampshire. We’ve done this annual trip for 25 years and as the kids and their stuff have grown, the space for astronomy gear has shrunk. Thank goodness for my little A-P Stowaway! Something I’ve enjoyed over the years is mounting a 35mm camera lens on my PGR streaming camera and seeing what can be seen. The camera is connected by a thin cable to my laptop. It’s a very light and mobile set-up, but not suited for moving around. So I find a comfortable chair and rotate the camera on a tripod in different directions to look for an interesting picture. I’ve not modified this camera for long exposures, so I am limited to a one second shutter at night. During the day, I enjoy holding a 1.25” IR pass filter (780nm) to take advantage of the camera’s nice sensitivity at this wavelength. Here are a few shots for this year’s trip… all are taken from Twin Lake Village in New London, NH. Our older daughter will be married here at the end of the summer - for the first time in 25 years, we get to go twice.

Here are a few pictures, nighttime and daytime. The camera and lens can be seen at the bottom of the daytime snapshots. All images captured with AstroIIDC.
