Subject: using MBP T-bolt w/ FW ?

I’m looking at replacing my old MacBook Pro (08-09) to more up to date model.   Since Firewire ports are gone on newer models, I’m wondering if anyone has been using a new(er) MacBook Pro with the Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter for their FW cameras and AstroIIDC and experienced any issues?  thanks.  Ron
