Hi Doug;

Great, glad that solved it. You basically have to fill in the video size before you start the camera up.

One issue you may run into is with the GPUSB. They changed the hardware without changing version numbers etc. and if it's a 2007 model, then it won't work with 3.01 and earlier, so you have to use the Beta 3.02 version.

The older GPUSB  shows up as a HID (Human Interface Device) which has 16 one bit  buttons and the "new" version shows up as having 2 eight bit buttons. Because we follow the HID spec protocol, we expect 16 buttons not 2 and Astro IIDC 3.01 or earlier won't work with it. In version 3.02, I wound up re-writing a significant amount of code to detect which model we are using and then handle the difference correctly, but it does work.

HTH..

PS: I'll be positing Beta 23 of Astro IIDC 3.02 later today which solves a problem with star recognition with guiding. I'd have caught it sooner, but it's been rain / snow / fog and clouds for the past 10 days.

Hi Milton,

I just checked it out here on my desktop at work and my problem was precisely as you

point out.  I read the instructions on page 23 previously but I obviously misunderstood the

operational sequence - my bad.

Thank you for clearing that up - and for such a great program ! I'm going to enjoy this

learning curve.

best,

Doug

The Flea2 uses Format 7 and indeed I can select FMT7 modes under

the "Camera ROI" is not

assume I am missing

something trivial here but a search of this forum and the help

manual has not yielded an

answer.

It's actually decribed on Page 23 of the manual.

"Quote Begin

The "Camera ROI..." menu item allows you to specify a Region Of

Interest on the Camera's CCD to image with. This item will only be

selectable if the Camera Video Format: menu is set to a Format 7

(i.e. FMT7) video format, the Format 7 mode you selected allows ROI

and if the camera is not currently displaying video.

End Quote"

So my guess is that you selected Format 7, then clicked "Start Video"

and then can not access the ROI menu item. What you need to do is

select Format 7, select the ROI item, fill in the ROI area and then

click "Start Video".
