Jim:
I passed on a chance to buy a good used Mewlon 250 when I bought my
NJP and EM-10 mounts. It would have been a substantial additional
expenditure, but it was more than 2K less than the current retail
price. Wish I had.
On the other hand, I don't have 2K in my 12.5" Cassegrain, which has
optics from Ed Beck. And now that I've got the tube currents problems
licked, I don't really need a Mewlon. It's a big scope, though, and
so I don't use it very often as a result, unfortunately.

Tim,
There was a review of the 210 in the UK Journal Practical Astronomer
and they
raved about its mirror figuring. I like it because its very light and
absolutely does not dew up even through a Canadian winter. It is
very dependant
on accurate collimation and seeing conditions.

Very nice! How do you like the Mewlon?
I was drooling over a Mewlon 210 and their 212 Newt-Cass at RTMC this
year, but the rep never stayed out after the evening programs, so I've
never looked through one.

I got up early this morning since clear skies are rare these days in

to attempt first light with my new Tak Mewlon 210. Skies were
mediocre but I managed to
capture a small Mars image. Lightly processed to preserve a more
natural look of low
contrast features.
