Subject: Re: [Astro_IIDC] tips for alignment of RGB channels

Hi Antonio;

That is correct. Astro IIDC does not allow you to align the individual  R G B color channel frames and your best bet to do this is with PhotoShop, as Allan F. kindly described the steps for doing it.

I had planned to add this in for Astro IIDC 4 (actual it would have allowed R G B and L R G B alignment), however because of the pain that Leopard caused and some other Apple issues with porting to x86, I ran out of time to implement it. It may get added in a subsequently in a later update for Version 4.

And on the Astro IIDC 4 Release front, I'm working on the documentation and hope to have that completed in early february. There are a tonne of changes and I want to expand the manual a bit too to clarify questions that have come up on the list.

Hope That Helps..

Hello,

I am new to this group and to planetary imaging as well, so please don't bother if I ask some

basic questions. I am trying to practice with Astro IIDC and a DMK camera, but would like to

know which tool/tips you suggest for aligning RGB images acquired separately through a

filter wheel. Indeed, it does not seem that Astro IIDC can do that easily, is that right?

I suppose that resampling each channel and layering with Photoshop may be one way to do

that manually. What do you suggest, anyway?

Thanks a lot!
